Tokyo Roller Girls

The Tokyo Roller Girls ((日本語:東京ローラーガールズ)) is a flat track roller derby league based in Tokyo in Japan. Founded in 2010, the league currently consists of fours teams, plus an all star squad which competes against teams from other leagues.
The league was founded in 2010 by Jennifer and Talia Moretty, an American military family stationed in Japan Yokosuka Naval Base. It grew with the addition of teams located at the Yokota Air Base and Camp Zama, also consisting principally of American service personnel. In 2012, the Tokyo Bomber Girls was founded, a team of mostly Japanese skaters based in the capital city.〔Shana Graves, "(Roller derby dames get rough and tough on the rink )", ''The Japan Times'', November 18, 2012〕
In October 2012, Tokyo Roller Girls was accepted as a member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association Apprentice Programme,〔"(22 Leagues Join WFTDA Apprentice Program )", WFTDA, 18 October 2012〕 and it became a full member of the WFTDA in June 2013.〔"(WFTDA Welcomes First Full Member Leagues in Asia and South America )", 6 June 2013〕
